Bombe has a unique thing going for it; for us, there's always a red apple flavor present, and often a kind of pink bubblegum… it’s not at all an explosive “bomb”, but rather something pretty and sweet.
This year’s washed Bombe is loaded full of complexity. Our early evaluations showed us a sweet complex cup with fatty green olives and cinnamon, and a very clear linden tea finish. At the moment, however, it’s definitely got lots of apple in both espresso and filter roasts, and just totally impressing us each day with slightly different nuances.
A fun fact: our girl Edilnesh, whom we support, comes from Bombe. We first met her in her family’s coffee forest during harvest 5 years ago and was so impressed with this little 14 year old that we decided to help her with her education.
